Borrowdale Fell Race Recovery Bike Ride

In the last few years it has become clear that fewer runners have been staying on to enjoy the evening’s entertainments after the Borrowdale Fell Race. Some people may still regret that the Latrigg Race no longer takes place on the day after the Borrowdale Fell Race. With those thoughts in mind Ann and Billy Bland are proposing to organise an informal fell runners’ cycle sportive event on Sunday 8th August.

The event would be open to all and would use the marquee provided by the Scafell Hotel as event headquarters.

The proposed route would be challenging. Start from Rosthwaite, west side of Derwentwater, Whinlatter Pass, Buttermere, Honister Pass, Rosthwaite, west side of Derwentwater, Newlands Pass, Buttermere, Honister Pass and finishing in Rosthwaite. Billy thinks that it would be about 50 miles.
